The slave market

In this painting by Salvador Dalí titled The slave market and the bust of Voltaire that disappears From 1940 Dalí gives course to the hallucinatory forces through the use of double images. The central element is the head of the bust of Voltaire the famous French philosopher (of the sculptor Houdon) whose face is formed by the bodies of two women dressed in the costumes of the seventeenth century, whose heads and ornaments make up the eyes and the chin of the famous writer and philosopher.
